Control of Tuberculosis is a public health function achieved through early diagnosis and treatment of patients, testing of contacts and treatment of latent TB infection (TB infection without active disease as in a positive TB skin test, normal chest X-ray and no symptoms) as well as treatment of active disease. Medications and follow-up are provided. TB skin tests are also provided when required for employment.
